Welcome to The Cabin, our little log cabin at the beach in the Outer Banks. We stumbled on to the cabin and fell in adore! Over the course of a year we lived in & modernized this marvelous home. It was our hope to create a space that feels warm, inviting & unique. The final result was a space that we adored sharing with friends and family, and now we are thrilled to be able to share it with our guests. We are so happy to welcome you to our home and hope you appreciate it as much as we do.
The Cabin is a unique beach cabin located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills close to the beach, bay, eateries and attractions! The space is entirely equipped with everything you need to savor your time in the Outer Banks! A few highlights:

Every detail was considered when designing a holiday escape for our guests. The home affords a cavernous layout in a impressive log-cabin setting.
There are 3 bedrooms in the home. The primary bedroom is on the first floor with a king sized bed. Upstairs there are two enormous bedrooms, each with 2 queen sized beds and a dresser/ armoire. The main living space offers a deep, comfortable couch ideal for afternoon naps as you feel the summer breezes flowing through the home. The kitchen is completely supplied and has a central island ideal for gathering around and spending time with friends and family. The kitchen is also equipped with a washer and dryer for guest use. In the dining room, you will find a huge table ideal for family gatherings.
The backyard is a real show stopper - ideal for all of your outdoor activities. Savor the sprawling lawn to layout, play games, or any other activities you can think of at the beach! Take time calming in the hammock or the lounge chairs during the day, or have a BBQ with the grille and picnic tables under the string lights in the evening. Finish your nighttime by gathering around the fire pit under the stars. And finally, no matter what time of the day, the dual rain head outdoor shower is ideal for cooling off and relaxing.

The Cabin is located in Kill Devil Hills, in the Outer Banks. We fell in appreciate with KDH for its hometown feel, as well as its simple access to both the ocean and the bay. Our location affords us the luxury of the Bay Drive walking & cycling path, the Bay Drive boat launch, as well as numerous access points to the ocean beach access, with the closest access points at 1st Street, Prospect Ave, and 3rd Street Public Beach Access.

Getting to the beach from the Cabin is painless, and we appreciate that we are located near three easy access points: 1st Street, Prospect Ave, and 3rd Street Public Beach Access. We are afforded a "Stop Light" intersection on 1st - during the busier times of the year this is a humongous positive in the OBX because those access points have a stop light with a crosswalk to cross N Croatan which can be busy during peak times.
Kitty Hawk Bay is due Northwest from our Cabin. We highly recommend you head down that way to the Bay Ave Walking/Biking trail for sunsets at nighttime, but also at anytime during the day because the Bay Drive trail runs along the bay for multiple miles in each direction. You can use this for walking, running, cycling. It also leads to the Avalon Beach Kitty Hawk Bay Boat Launch where you can launch boats, jetskis, canoes, kayaks, etc. Additionally, if you take the trail South, you can actually walk or ride bicycles to the Wright Brother's Memorial from the back way along 1st Street.
The garage has a secondary refrigerator for guest use. It is also equipped with at least 6 bicycles - sometimes up to 10 for guest use. Also in the garage are some lawn games including corn hole and bocce.

This is a family home - we use it to vacation and visit family in the OBX. Please kindly treat it like it is your own, with respect. We really enjoy it.

About the Area
Located in Kill Devil Hills, this cabin is near the beach. Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf and Stop-N-Shop Beach Shop are local attractions and those in the mood for shopping can visit Outer Banks Mall and Outlets Nags Head. Paradise Fun Park and Destination Fun are also worth visiting. Take an opportunity to explore the area for outdoor excitement like cycling.

- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Kill Devil Hills. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Kill Devil Hills restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance.
