A Sound Choice is a freshly refreshed 1 bdrm apartment right on the Sound! The apartment is the downstairs to a bigger home, that is currently occupied by a super nice OBX family. You will have use of part of the backyard, that includes corn hole, chairs and even a fire pit! There is also a back deck with your own grille, table and chairs and a Nags Head Hammock double swing for the ideal sunset spot!
Inside you will find a splendid living space, and kitchen. We have a k-pod and regular coffee machine combo, as well as an electric tea pot. There are pots and pans in the drawers and cabinets, with some additional space for your items. Dishes can be found in the cabinets above, as well as wine glasses, coffee and tea cups. On top of the refrigerator are two rattan baskets for more storage for your goodies! Washer and dryer are right in the apartment as well, at the end of the kitchen! Just outside the kitchen is the dining area with a table just for two, Here you find an additional storage stand as well for food.
The living room has a couch, upsized chair, and huge ottoman with blankets inside for cuddling! On the wall you will find a 75” wall mounted full tilt Roku TV for all your streaming needs! In the entertainment stand are some games for rainy days or peaceful evenings in!
In the basket in the living room, under the windows, you will find 2 yoga mats, as well as some kettle bells, for sunrise yoga and working out!
The bedroom has a King bed, high end cotton percale sheets, and tons of pillows. There is a sizable dresser as well as a closet for clothing. In here you will also find a 65” flat screen Roku TV mounted on the wall that turns where you need it for ideal bed viewing. There is also a noise machine on the nightstand to help with privacy or to help with getting to sleep! This machine has 4 different categories, each with their own sounds, including the ocean! There are multiple selections for timers and volume as well. These can be found on the bottom of the noise machine.
Located outside the bedroom door is a desk designated for laptop work, or makeup application!
The bathroom is located right outside the bedroom door, and you will find a hamper here as well. The bathroom has a cabinet above the toilet for your toiletries, robe hook behind the door, and the shower has a rainfall shower head.
The back door leads right out onto the back deck for striking photos and sunsets, and just pure rest and relaxation. With our roomy living room, giant flat screen tvs, and comfortable king linens, it's hard not to fall in adore! But who are we kidding?! It's the view that you'll really fall in adore with, as you sit on the porch swing and look out over the water and fall in appreciate with the OBX!
You have the entire apartment to yourself! Out the back, you will have the left portion of the porch and will share our back yard, to the left. The main tenants of the home have 2 well behaved doggies, and utilize the main portions. The fire pit and two lawn chairs are yours to use as well. Around the left side of the porch, you will find 2 beach chairs to use during your a stay. The grille, dinging table and porch swing on the left are all yours!
We live really close by, and are available by text!
***Special Mention*** This home is directly on the sound! While it is definitely handsome, there are some things to note. When you live here, or are familiar to the Outer Banks, then you realize you HAVE to contend with bugs. Specifically Midgies, palmetto bugs and water spiders, ESPECIALLY when there is wind from the west! Midgies LOVE the light, and when you have the lights on outside at nighttime, or open the doors, they will FLOCK inside.
We ask that you please keep the doors and windows closed and outdoor lights off as much as possible, to help with this issue. We do have a quarterly contract with pest control for other pests, however, Midgies and mosquitos won't be affected by this.
You MUST know that as with any home on the sound, you may encounter wild life and bugs. If a bug encounter will bother you, this may not be the home for you. We also have wild life families that have constructed their homes in the marshes of the water. A fox family, raccoon family, geese, deer, otter and ducks. Of course water fowl as well!
You will also see a plethora of fish, crabs and water creatures!
Our home is located right in the heart of Kill Devil Hills, centrally located close to everything! Food, shopping and activities are all literally a skip, hop and a jump away! There is a bicycle path directly in front of the home that people appreciate to use for an evening walk while the sun sets, cycling, dog walking, or walking/running! Our home is located super close to many beach accesses as well!! Taking a early morning walk/run on the OBX is a great way to start your day! Use this bicycle path, or take a fast trip over to the ocean side and watch the sunrise!
Most people get around by car, or bicycle, as everything is really close, and some people take long walks down the bicycle path that goes along the street in front of the home. At our home you will have a designated parking area for one car.
About the Area
Kill Devil Hills is home to this apartment. Glazin' Go-Nuts and Wright Brothers National Memorial are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse and Island Farm. Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf and Paradise Fun Park are also worth visiting.
