- Private vacation home
No Ties is in the heart of Kill Devil Hills. The home is conveniently located close to stores, local eateries, and grocery stores. Whether it is beach, surfing, fishing, excursions or nighttime life, you will be in the center of it all.
The space
This is a classic beach box layout with a modern flair. The family room/kitchen area is open and modern with bar stools and modest table. The kitchen is entirely equipped for those nights you want to prepare at home. There is a dedicated work space in the family area. Please note, there is not a dining table that will accommodate 6 guest. There are 4 bar stools and a table for 2.
Guest access
Guest are renting the entire upstairs. There is a downstairs apartment that is occasionally used but the outdoor yard space is for guests only
Other things to note
The home is located right off the bypass. Having new windows in the home helps to reduce any road noise inside the home. In peak traffic times there will be traffic noise outside the home. There is a nice buffer space between the home and the road.
Also, please note that the main queen bedroom is a little quirky and has a toilet and vanity in the bedroom and that it is only enclosed by a curtain (makes it simple in the middle of the nighttime. haha)
External cameras- There are 2 external cameras. Just like at a hotel they are in place to protect the guest, the host, and the building.
No events, no smoking , checkout is 10am.
We do provide bed linens, one towel and 1 wash cloth per guest, kitchen towels and hand towels for the bathrooms

Finding the best Kill Devil Hills vacation home experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your Kill Devil Hills vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Kill Devil Hills visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing and booking the right Kill Devil Hills rental home:
- First, have your group decide on vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. No More Ties has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Kill Devil Hills beach you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
