PROFILE

Boba in the Banks

Moge Tee Arrives in Nags Head as the Outer Banks’ First Bubble Tea Shop

Tommy and Ting, husband and wife team and co-owners of Nags Head’s revered PokeBox, are longtime OBX restaurateurs. Their newest venture, Möge Tee, is slated to open May of 2023 and will be the first of its kind on the Outer Banks. The couple is not only excited to bring this token of Asian-American popular culture to the beach but are eager to share the Boba Tea phenomenon with vacationers and locals alike.

Tea consumers have spanned generations. Royals, commoners and everyone in between have sipped the loose-leaf concoction for healing, health and enjoyment. Boba Tea, or bubble tea, is a modern iteration of the ancient beverage and is especially popular among the younger generation. The drink’s colorful appearance and endless combinations of tea, milk and chewy tapioca pearls (or boba) are what keep Bubble Tea drinkers coming back for more.

Möge Tee is unique in its wide variety of fresh and premium ingredients used for each drink that are highly customizable. Customers can tailor the tea’s sweetness and add extra toppings like fresh fruit, cheese foam, matcha powder and Oreo crumble, just to name a few. Möge Tee also serves an array of blended beverages known as Fruit Tea Slush which is crafted from ice, fresh fruit, yogurt and flavored teas like mango, strawberry and oolong. Every cup is made to order with quality you can see and freshness you can taste. Möge Tee is bubble tea reimagined.

Among Moge Tee’s most popular selections are Cheese Foam Tea, Fruit Tea Slush, Milk Tea, Uji Matcha, Fresh Fruit Yakult, Coconut Slush and Coffee. The Möge Tee brand takes pride in serving beverages that are crafted from the highest quality ingredients to ensure fresh, thirst-quenching sips every time. Boba Tea is especially refreshing after a long day at the beach, or as a sweet, post-meal dessert. Tommy and Ting invite you to experience what sets Moge Tee apart from the rest of the bubble tea industry.

You’ll discover that not only is Miller’s a tradition for so many, it’s also a Miller family tradition. Two generations of Millers have worked side by side to make the Kill Devil Hills restaurant a favorite for all who pass through its doors. Owners Brian and Beth Miller want guests to feel at home and can often be found making rounds to check on customers and mingle with them as they dine.

Here at Miller’s, everyone is treated like family as they experience an unforgettable dining experience. Large parties are also welcome, making it perfect for extended families to enjoy dining together on their Outer Banks vacation. Come on in and see for yourself why Miller’s Seafood & Steakhouse is more than just a great restaurant. It’s a tradition.

It was 1978 when Eddie and Lou Miller first opened Miller’s Seafood and Steakhouse. As a teenager, their son Brian spent his summers working in the restaurant, getting familiar with the family business. After college, Brian and his wife Beth came back to Kill Devil Hills and began working together at Miller’s. Brian and Beth officially purchased the restaurant from Eddie and Lou in 2007. A few years later they opened American Pie together, and both restaurants now carry on the Miller family tradition of quality, excellence and hospitality.
