Strategies to get the best Kill Devil Hills vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Kill Devil Hills area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kill Devil Hills area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking the right Kill Devil Hills rental:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. COCO'S COTTAGE - DOGS AND DAY DREAMS !!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
