We freshly purchased our Saltbox Style Cottage here on the Outer Banks! This neighborhood is one of our favorite locations on the entire barrier island. We live just a few homes away from our new rental. EVERYTHING is new 2022! We have spent the last few months preparing for YOU, our guests, to appreciate this bungalow over these summer months. Packed with quality features from floor to memory foam beds cleaned and encased for additional tranquility of mind. We have a high-level of cleanliness expectations for our property that we know our guests savor. While this bungalow is a new listing, we have owned and rented multiple properties across the barrier island since 2014. We are professional hosts that live here locally and take great care of our guests and our property!

You will enjoy our neighborhood! Our beach access is just a .5 mi or 10 min. walk from the bungalow on the way is Dunkin Donuts and Ashley's Espresso Parlour, which serves coffee, wine and beer. Behind Ashley's Espresso Parlour is Mom's Sweet Shop, which is a retail store and an ice cream spot! Eateries and shopping are also walkable in the Seagate North Shopping Center.
Walk back to the 'sound side' via the stoplight and pedestrian crosswalk to enjoy the miles of walking and cycling paths on Bay Drive bordering the Albemarle Sound and Kitty Hawk Bay. There are two community sound accesses close by - the one turning right does not have parking, the one to the left on Bay Drive has 3 available parking spots along with a dock and gazebo with swimming access. These are the BEST spots to swim, launch a kayak or take in the sunset over the water. For those with bicycles, you can bicycle the entire 2.5 mi Bay Drive Multi-Use Path or continue down W First Street to the Wright Brother's Monument. Access is by the air field entering in the back of the park.
Also walkable is Heaven Golf and Arcade with Mini Golf, Bumper Vehicles, Go-Karts and Arcade. Several eateries like Henry's Restaurant, Two Roads Tavern, Chili Peppers and Brew Thru (for drinks).
OWNER NOTES - The yard is in a transitional phase, after 20 years without maintenance, we are in the process of riding the yard of thorns and weeds. We DO NOT recommend using the yard for our guests. We have a great concrete area underneath the home with picnic table, hot tub and bar seating. *Parking is limited to three cars. No yard or street parking possible at our location.
Additionally, we live locally just a few homes away from our rental property. This property is not suitable for events, events or illegal activities. We are excited to share our beach home, which we reserve in the off-season for our family members. Our neighborhood consists of full-time residents (like us), second home owners and a modest number of rental properties. WE INSIST THAT ALL RENTERS respect our neighbors at the property and the noise ordinance in our town to reduce outdoor noise after 10:00 pm at nighttime.
Lastly, family pets! We are big dog people. However, dogs should not be left barking in the home all-day causing a disturbance to neighbors. Please plan for your pet on these hot summer days! Most importantly, all pets should be flea and tick complimentary prior to arrival and on flea and tick preventative. If the property requires pest treatment, the guest will be penalized.

Tips to get the optimal Kill Devil Hills vacation home experience:
When to visit Kill Devil Hills & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Kill Devil Hills vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Kill Devil Hills visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect vacation rental:
- First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Renovated, Pet-Friendly, with HOT TUB - Highly Walkable Location has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
