How to find the best Kill Devil Hills rental experience:
Money saving strategies:

- Summer months are high season in the Kill Devil Hills area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Kill Devil Hills trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
