About this Property

  • Sleeps 6
  • 3 Bedrooms
  • 2 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 1550 square feet

Wonderful location in the heart of the Outer Banks. Located at Milepost 6. Walking distance to shopping, eateries and a great coffee shop! House only rents Saturday-Saturday in the summer. House is 10 years old and was completely redone by me when I bought it in 2011. I put in all new kitchen appliances and floor throughout. New dishwasher in 2022. In 2016 I had a completely new air conditioning system installed. In 2017 I replaced all the beds. in 2019 I replaced all the carpet in the bedrooms (its softer on bare feet now!)

My family and I use it a lot in the off seasons and the home gets completely booked for summers so it has everything I know you want! The Lazy Susan is located in Kill Devil Hills, NC at Mile Post 6 on the West (Sound) side. 3 blocks from The Front Porch-the best coffee shop in the OBX.

The home has 3 bedrooms-2 queen beds, 2 single beds and 2 full bathrooms with tubs that were all completely redecorated. Ceiling fans and new light fixtures throughout. Flat screen Intelligent TV in the Great Room. Flat screens in all bedrooms as well. Sizable deck on the second level. Gas grille. Free Wireless Internet. New outdoor shower in 2012. Ideal home for couples, families or modest groups. It is a Beach Box (on stilts) so there are stairs to get to the living area. The home is pet friendly but there is not a fenced in yard, so you will have to walk them.

There is a 3 nighttime minimum in the off season. 7 nighttime minimum (Saturday to Saturday) Memorial Day-Labor Day.

Booking the best Kill Devil Hills vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Kill Devil Hills area. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • In the Kill Devil Hills area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Kill Devil Hills area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to select the perfect vacation rental in the Kill Devil Hills area:

  • First, have your group select date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 3 bedroom-pet friendly! Great reviews! Fall is a beautiful time to visit! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If not, call the host before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Kill Devil Hills beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
