The home is 1,650 square feet and sits one wooded acre. The home has the fashionable 'reverse' floor plan (living area upstairs with bedroom areas downstairs). The home sits on a cove of the Albemarle Sound.
There is a 110 foot private walkway from the home to a dock with a gazebo. The home and gazebo face south-west offering impressive sunsets. A porch off the kitchen faces the woods and offers a peaceful serenity not often found at the beach. The beach (Atlantic Ocean) is less than a mile away and there is a bicycle path that runs in front of the 'Sound Crab', by the Wright Memorial ending at the major ocean access point in Kill Devil Hills.
The home is gorgeously decorated. There is an extraordinary amount of glass to take advantage of the sound and woods vistas. The kitchen is well equipped and contains all modern appliances. The home is far enough off the road (that dead ends less than 100 feet in a cul-de-sac) that traffic is rarely heard.
A full-size washer and dryer are in a storage area on this floor.
A Weber charcoal Bar-B-Que grille is available on the deck.
A deck covers three sides of the lower level while the porch covers a fourth side.
A deck covers two sides of the upper level while a porch covers a third side. Rising from this level of deck is a roof top deck. This deck is 35 feet off the ground.
The home is wired for the internet.

Kill Devil Hills vacation rental home tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Kill Devil Hills vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Kill Devil Hills area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting the best rental home in Kill Devil Hills:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Sound front-Close to the Ocean-AVAILABLE Memorial weekend, \"90\" 5-star reviews has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kill Devil Hills rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
