Finding the best Kill Devil Hills rental home experience:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Kill Devil Hills area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kill Devil Hills area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best rental home in the Kill Devil Hills area:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. LunaSea: First Floor Condo w\/ Sound Views, Community Pool & Tennis has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
