The Avalon Beach Bungalow OBX is an original OBX 'Bungalow' style home, that was re-imagined and remodeled by Live Swell Custom Homes in 2018.
The space
Our purpose is to create clean beach homes families dream about!
By listening to guests we have created a familiar, clean & consistent vacation rental home experience.

While comfortable, at just under 700 square feet, the Avalon Beach Bungalow is one of the last remaining original Bungalows in our OBX housing stock. The place was re-designed in 2017 with an open flow to provide our guests a modern coastal living experience all while maintaining its original 1950's bungalow appeal. Older beach bungalows, like this, can come with some imperfections. Your vacation is important to us, please read the entire listing descriptions to ensure the Avalon Beach Bungalow is a fit for you and your group.
Indoor Bathroom:
We have one bathroom inside - no tub - that features a modest glass-enclosed shower and a multi-use shower head.
Outdoor Shower:
Most of our guests favorite place to shower is outside in the vintage masonry enclosed outdoor shower. This enclosure is very private and comes with a exhilarating "rain shower" head for those hot summer beach days. In the winter months our guests can appreciate the warmth of the modest wood burning stove that makes this time of year to visit more special!

Other things to note
To us, a very clean bungalow is of the utmost importance for our guests upon arrival. In fact, our bungalows have very high cleanliness standards and a thorough cleaning + inspection process. Between each guest stay our beach bungalows are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized with EPA approved disinfectants on surfaces and common touch points.
Our cleaning process continues to evolve by implementing recommended CDC guidelines. Further, we take additional steps and train cleaners in any new cleaning standards through our “Sparkling Clean” training program.
Pet Friendly Guidelines:
•$25 per nighttime for one dog (one dog max. only)
• Some breeds may not be allowed due to insurance requirements
We adore dogs and are happy to have your four legged family members at our bungalows. Just let us know you are bringing your dog and the breed.
Property & Preference Disclaimer:
We appreciate our OBX bungalow, it's a great home. Like most older homes, it is not ideal, so may not be a fit for every group. Our primary objective is to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests, so we hope you understand, though rare, if a significant weather event is forecasted during a reservation there may be an impact. We have found many guest visitors to the Outer Banks consider purchasing vacation rental travel insurance as additional protection and tranquility of mind.
Check Out Etiquette: We put a lot of time and effort into delivering great stays for our guests. If deliberate damage, disrespect or lack of cleanliness is identified during the check out inspection, the guest of record will be charged costs to compensate our cleaners and ensure the property is ready for incoming guests.

Located in Kill Devil Hills, this vacation home is near the beach. Wright Brothers National Memorial and Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Kitty Hawk Woods Reserve and Nags Head Woods Preserve. Paradise Fun Park and Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf are also worth visiting.
