The mid level offers a huge open living and dining area with countless vistas. Just off the dining area, the open kitchen provides stainless steel appliances, plenty of storage, and countertop seating for two. A king master bedroom and private bath with a stall shower round out this level.
Upstairs, two queen bedrooms share a full bath. The ground level den with couches and a TV is the ideal hang-out space during nights in.
A Stair Tamer for bags and groceries makes unpacking the car a breeze. Please note that the Stair Tamer is currently inoperable. Once repaired, this note will be removed.
Guests at Paradise Sound are sure to appreciate all of the amenities the family-friendly, gated community of Colington Harbour offers, including a soundside park with sandy beaches, a playground, and a sheltered picnic area, an Olympic-sized community pool and kiddie pool, community tennis, and basketball courts.

Paradise Sound includes credit for $245 in beach gear units from our partners at VayK Life. Stay between April 6th and October 19th, 2024 (7-nighttime minimum), and use your beach gear credit for items such as bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, paddleboards, and more!

Tricks and tips for getting the best rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Kill Devil Hills area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing the rightvacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Enjoy sweeping sound views & a large fenced-in yard at this waterfront home! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, email the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
