Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Kill Devil Hills vacation home experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Kill Devil Hills restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Kill Devil Hills area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect rental home in the Kill Devil Hills area:

  • Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Sounds Good, 06. Miles from the Beach, 3 Bedroom Kill Devil Hills Vacation Home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
