"Finding Marlin" is centrally located in a mostly year-round peaceful residential neighborhood a short 15-min. walk, with light and crosswalk, to public beach access. We are one block from the sound side multi-use path. (Spectacular sunsets!) There are 3 eateries, a coffee shop, and a shop with ice cream within walking or cycling distance. We supplied a beach cart and some chairs for your use. The home has 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. We have a enormous backyard with a privacy fence. The backyard features an in-ground pool and (above-ground) hot tub, outdoor shower, and firepit. The pool is open from mid-April- mid- October . Actual open and closing dates are set with the weather patterns. If you are renting in April or October, and the pool is an amenities you would want, please inquire as to the status before booking. The hot tub is available year-round.
Appreciate privacy and fun with our handsome in-ground pool and hot tub in our fenced-in, private backyard. The hot tub is open year-round. The pool (not heated) is open from the middle of April until October sometime, depending on the weather patterns.
The loft-style 3rd floor has 1 queen bedroom and one bedroom with a "pyramid" single over double bunk bed with a shared "Jack and Jill" bathroom. There is also a reading nook with a futon on this level. Both 3rd-floor bedrooms feature balconies, and you can appreciate sunset vistas from the sound-facing 3rd-floor bedroom.
The second-floor living room has informal dining for 6 people in the main living room area and a sunny "Florida Room" breakfast/dining area adjacent to the completely supplied kitchen. There is 1 queen bedroom that shares access to a full bathroom with the common areas on this floor. All 3 bedrooms feature comfortable beds and desks/workspaces ideal for distance schooling or working from home.
The ground floor features access to the backyard and the pool, a foosball table, a full bathroom, and laundry facilities, as well as another nook with a table and stool that can serve as a 4th desk in the home for work or school needs.
In addition to the pool and hot tub, the backyard has a gas grille, a firepit, and an outdoor shower.
"Finding Marlin" is in a mostly residential/second home neighborhood with light and crosswalk to cross the main "highway" between us and the beach access. This is a very safe but busy neighborhood full of year-round residents as well as visitors, dogs, and kids. Walk and bicycle on the paved public, multi-use path that runs along the sound side with gazebos and public accesses.
The beach is a 15-min. walk or 8-10 min. bicycle ride to the nearest public beach access with light and crosswalk across the main road and lifeguard station in season. Or, better yet, rent a golf cart to use for your stay! The neighborhood is ideal for it, and you will see many residents and visitors with them. Putt-putt, go-carts, a produce stand, ice cream, a coffee shop, and numerous eateries are located within walking or cycling distance.
The pool opens in the middle of April and closes in October depending on forecasted temps. The hot tub is available year-round. Please let us know when booking and we will schedule service before your check-in.
TVs are intelligent TVs with streaming only. There is no live cable tv in the home.
We supply handsoap, dish soap, laundry detergent, trash bags, the first roll of paper towels and toilet paper in each bathroom. Guests are responsible for further paper product needs.
Please inquire or book with the ACTUAL total number of guests who will be staying at the home when booking. If the total number of guests changes at any time, please let us know so we have an accurate idea of how many people will be staying in the home.
The home is family-friendly but is not childproof. You are responsible for appropriate safety precautions for your kids.
Pool and lawn service vendors are independent contractors. They provide services at their own schedule and may come on to the property (outside only) from time to time during your stay. Please do NOT lock the gate to the backyard.
If you use the grille, please clean it for the next guests before your departure. If you use a propane tank or one runs out during your stay, please let us know so we can be sure to replenish for the next guests.
About the Area
Located in Kill Devil Hills, this vacation home is near the beach. Glazin' Go-Nuts and Wright Brothers National Memorial are cultural highlights, and travelers looking to shop may want to visit Outer Banks Mall and Scarborough Lane Shoppes. Paradise Fun Park and Children at Play Museum are also worth visiting.
