Savor more than just the beach in this bright and airy 1 bedroom 1 bathroom efficiency with porch and fenced yard, located in a peaceful, centrally located neighborhood. It's just one block from the bay/sound, and an painless walk or bicycle to the beach!
The interior space has queen bed, dresser, desk, flat screen intelligent tv with cable AND roku (with netflix, discovery app, etc), coffee maker, microwave and mini refrigerator. New linens, comforters and towels at the beginning of every season. The bathroom is nautically themed, with tile shower and granite countertop vanity. Walk out onto the porch for coffee or a beverage, to hear the birds & smell the salt air. There's a modest ocean peek from the porch.
The fenced yard makes it simple to bring your fur infant! Just relax and appreciate the beach, soundfront sunsets and more!
It's a short walk to the beach, with a pedestrian-friendly stoplight crosswalk. Or, it's about a 30 second drive to one of the many public beach access, all with complimentary parking.
The bedroom, bathroom and covered porch are private to you. There is a shared entrance area to walk through (shared with the owner) to get to the stairs that lead to the private porch and the private room/bathroom. The porch overlooks a entirely fenced yard that is shared with the owner and her dogs. (I try my best to minimize the time my dogs spend in the yard while guests are there. It's usually just a few mins. in the morning and in the evening.)
The neighborhood has a soundfront bicycle path that spans for miles along the water, which is a great place to walk, bicycle or jog, and this area is know for it's striking sunsets. All you have to do is walk down the street and discover. You can even follow the path all the way to the Wright Brothers Monument. There's a breakfast place one block away, 2 coffee stores within 2 blocks and more stores and eateries all within a short walk.
I live above the unit, so I'm happy to give recommendations for eateries, activities, or help with anything you may need. While I do my best to be as peaceful as I can, you may hear footsteps and the dogs barking from time to time.

Tips and Tricks to get the best Kill Devil Hills rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To book the best rental home within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Kill Devil Hills restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Kill Devil Hills area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kill Devil Hills area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Private efficiency close to the beach and bay! Great for couples. Dog-friendly. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a particular Kill Devil Hills beach you crave, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
