Kill Devil Hills vacation rental tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Kill Devil Hills visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting and booking your prefectrental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Bright 3 bedroom unit-Close to beach and shops-Bikes included has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Call the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
