How to find the best Kill Devil Hills rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summertime is high season in Kill Devil Hills. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Kill Devil Hills visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Magnolia Sound KDH has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
