As our guest, you will have a "peak-a-boo" ocean view of the Atlantic be located just steps to impressive OBX beaches. We are located close to eateries, shopping, the Avalon Fishing Pier and most activities. Imagine drifting away into a mellow mood in the calming, comfortable and chic bungalow after a beach day with family and friends.
Welcome to Live Swell Beach Bungalows. Here our guests refresh from reality while appreciating the elements of coastal living and beach life.
All of our boutique units feature:
•Linens + Bath Towels
•Professional & Attentive Guest Support
•Private Outdoor Shower
•Two Beach Cruiser Style Bicycles
The Magical Bungalow is a "Beach Box" style bungalow constructed in the 1970's and is just shy of 1000 square feet of total living space. The place was re-designed with an open flow to provide our guests a modern coastal living experience all while maintaining its original bungalow appeal.
The space is ideal for:
•Modest active families or groups of friends
•7 people comfortably, 8 people if ya'll get along well
Guest Favorites:
From starting the day rocking on the front porch with a piping hot morning coffee or chilling out and grilling at the bungalow, here’s what our guests say they adored:
•Front Porch – morning coffee and evening sunsets!
•Rocking chair, hammocks for everybody on the front porch!
•The Outdoor Shower
•Grilling and a well-supplied kitchen
•Dog Friendly (See Guidelines Below)
•A family friendly and safe neighborhood
•The location! – hear the roar of the ocean, walking distance to the beach (Please keep in mind, the home is located on a direct beach access with parking. Busier times of year it can get full. Most appreciate the lively vibe of being on a beach access in the summer months, others may not.)
Our guests appreciate the "Great Room" with its vaulted ceilings that connects to the kitchen and front porch though french doors. On the right day and at the right times, with the windows open, you can feel the invigorating sea breeze pass though the home. Here you will also savor the "BigAss" Brand Haiku Fan in the living room that seems to have a hypnotic like effect particularly as the lazy summers evenings drift into nighttime. The master bedroom with its spa-like private bathroom is our favorite room to stay when visiting, inside you can refresh and escape for a while with the additional sizable 16" rain shower head and hand held wand.
There is an enclosure space is located on ground level, it has a separate entrance and is not as upgraded like the upper level main living area. It was not designed as living space or sleeping and is primarily used as storage.

How to book the best Kill Devil Hills rental home experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- To get the best rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Kill Devil Hills area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental:
- First, have your group decide on trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Magical Bungalow OBX: Steps to Beach, Walk to Avalon Pier has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kill Devil Hills vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
