Kill Devil Hills rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to visit Kill Devil Hills & When to reserve a Kill Devil Hills rental home:
- To book the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting and booking a perfectrental:
- First, have your group agree to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Unit 2-Walk\/ Bike to Beach! Bikes Included! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kill Devil Hills rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Kill Devil Hills beach you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your agreement.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
