Heading down to the Outer Banks for your vacation just became easier when you book your vacation at our Sunday turn-over home. Located directly across the street from the Carlow Avenue beach access, this home has all of the amenities of being just a few steps away from the sand and waves. Ocean vistas from the second floor give this comfortable “home away from home” the ambiance you will be looking for during your summer getaway. Savor taking in the ocean breezes from our two oceanside decks or relax with friends and family with games and conversation spaces on our home’s ground level.

Our family loves to spend time here, so we have paid special attention to what would make this a comfortable place for anyone to visit. The well-equipped kitchen is ideal for creating and serving your own meals, or plan to appreciate carry-out prepared at one of the award-winning eateries close by. The family-style eating area and bar are ideal for appreciating meals together and playing games. We set our clocks to "Island Time," but complimentary WiFi and YouTube TV make it possible for renters to comfortably stay in touch. Recent tech upgrades include Intelligent TV’s in bedrooms and the living room, accepting guests to savor streaming their favorite content while on vacation.

How to get the best vacation home experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • To find the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kill Devil Hills area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best vacation rental in Kill Devil Hills:

  • First and foremost, have your family select trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Semi-OF Sunday Turn Over! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kill Devil Hills vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
