Our top Kill Devil Hills rental property booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Kill Devil Hills area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kill Devil Hills area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. CH207- Spectacular Soundfront, 3 BRs, Private Dock, Comm Pool, Tennis\/Marina. has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
