Finding the best Kill Devil Hills rental home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Kill Devil Hills area visitors guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book your prefectvacation home:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Newly Remolded Beach House with Fire pit & Hot tub, Just 2 Blocks To The Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
