Pool and lawn service vendors are independent contractors. They provide services on their own schedule and may visit the property (outside only) from time to time during your stay.

How to get the best Kill Devil Hills vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Kill Devil Hills rental & When to go:
- To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kill Devil Hills area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best rental home in Kill Devil Hills:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Heart Of Kill Devil Hills~Saltwater Pool~Hot Tub~Ocean Views~Dog Friendly has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's an individual Kill Devil Hills beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
