After a day at the beach, you will find an ideal spot to relax both inside and out. We are conveniently located to great eateries, coffee stores, fishing, shopping and other activities.
The space:
Like many coastal homes, Avalon Escape’s main level is on the second floor, with a bedroom and additional living room on the first floor.
Main Floor (2nd Floor): The main living area includes an open living room, dining area and full kitchen with a breakfast bar. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms on this level (King bedroom, Queen bedroom, and a Captain’s bunk set including a double lower bed and twin upper bed). One bathroom with a shower is accessible through the King bedroom, and another bathroom with a tub/shower combo is accessible from the main hall. There is a TV in the King and Bunk bedrooms, as well as the main living area. Outside, you will find a cavernous open-air deck ideal for meals or conversation around the huge table. The screened porch is a ideal place for morning coffee or to catch the sunset.
Downstairs (1st Floor): The first floor includes the fourth bedroom (Queen) with an en suite bathroom (shower), as well as a additional living area with a TV and an additional refrigerator/freezer.
NOTE: The downstairs area is only accessible through a separate entry (keyless entry included). You will have access to both floors and all that they provide.
Outside, you will find a roomy outdoor shower (with hot water), a foot-wash and changing area. There is a charcoal BBQ and hammock available for guest use and additional seating for appreciating the shaded area under the home. The laundry room with a full sized washer and dryer can be found on the back side of the home.

While we are new to Vrbo, we are not new to renting our home. Book your stay today to ensure your preferred dates are available!
Check Out Inspection: We work hard to provide our guests a casual experience when renting our home. This includes working with our cleaning team to ensure that our home is ready for each new guest. If our team finds damage (aside from normal wear and tear), deliberate or lack of basic cleanliness during the checkout inspection, costs will be charged for our cleaners to ensure that our home is ready for the next guests.

Booking the best Kill Devil Hills rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Kill Devil Hills area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Kill Devil Hills area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Beachbox in Kill Devil Hills: 3 Min Walk To Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
