We are so excited to share our new home with you! While we may be new, our local host is very experienced with five stars on all of her properties. She brings that attention to detail and appreciate of hosting with her:-)
We are dog friendly (one dog and no other family pets) with a completely fenced yard!
About the home: When you enter the home, you’ll enter into the mudroom, which homes a washer and dryer and assorted beach gear. Off that entry room is the first bedroom, which has bunk beds. There is a double bed, a twin bed and a twin trundle as well as a couch and a TV for the kiddos!
Up the stairs you’ll find the first bedroom on the main floor to your left which has a queen bed, and tons of additional space for a pack and play which is kept in the closet. Straight ahead and off the bedroom is a fully remodeled bathroom with bath tub and shower. The bathroom is accessible from the hall and from the bedroom. To your right is the kitchen, dining room, and living room. The kitchen has everything you would need to prepare and serve for six. We have a Kuerig duo and a French press as well as a crock pot, toaster and blender.
Our deck wraps around the front of the home and to the right where we have outdoor seating and a table that seats six as well as a propane grille.
Up the stairs, is the master bedroom which has a king bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower stall and double sinks. There is a handsome deck for two off the master bedroom which looks out onto the backyard. We have plenty of space in our walk-in closet and a dresser as well. There is a modest TV in each bedroom equipped with Roku. We do not have cable, but we do have the fastest Internet available in the Outer Banks.
Last but not least, we have a delightful new fire pit in the backyard which works with propane. You’ll find our home has tons of spaces to hang out together but also spaces to hang apart. It is cavernous and peaceful and we hope you appreciate it as much as we do. ~~~Athena and Kyle

Strategies to get the optimal rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kill Devil Hills area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Following Seas - Pup friendly retreat by Sea and Sound! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kill Devil Hills rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
