We are so excited to share our new home with you! While we may be new, our local host is very experienced with five stars on all of her properties. She brings that attention to detail and appreciate of hosting with her:-)

We are dog friendly (one dog and no other family pets) with a completely fenced yard!

About the home: When you enter the home, you’ll enter into the mudroom, which homes a washer and dryer and assorted beach gear. Off that entry room is the first bedroom, which has bunk beds. There is a double bed, a twin bed and a twin trundle as well as a couch and a TV for the kiddos!

Up the stairs you’ll find the first bedroom on the main floor to your left which has a queen bed, and tons of additional space for a pack and play which is kept in the closet. Straight ahead and off the bedroom is a fully refreshed bathroom with bath tub and shower. The bathroom is accessible from the hall and from the bedroom. To your right is the kitchen, dining room, and living room. The kitchen has everything you would need to prepare and serve for six. We have a Kuerig duo and a French press as well as a crock pot, toaster and blender.

Our deck wraps around the front of the home and to the right where we have outdoor seating and a table that seats six as well as a propane grille.

Up the stairs, is the master bedroom which has a king bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower stall and double sinks. There is a splendid deck for two off the master bedroom which looks out onto the backyard. We have plenty of space in our walk-in closet and a dresser as well. There is a modest TV in each bedroom equipped with Roku. We do not have cable, but we do have the fastest Internet available in the Outer Banks.

Last but not least, we have a delightful new fire pit in the backyard which works with propane. You’ll find our home has tons of spaces to hang out together but also spaces to hang apart. It is roomy and peaceful and we hope you appreciate it as much as we do. ~~~Athena and Kyle

Finding the best vacation rental experience:

When to book a Kill Devil Hills rental & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the best vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Kill Devil Hills attractions and restaurants.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Kill Devil Hills visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking a perfect Kill Devil Hills rental home:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Following Seas - Pup friendly retreat by Sea and Sound! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kill Devil Hills rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Kill Devil Hills beach you long to visit, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
